New... India (2008).  Not by motorhome, but Harriet's started a new blog. Check it out.  But you CAN rent a motorhome in India and drive it yourself or chauffered.  Outside of the cities and particularly in Rajistan and the Northwest this would be a great option.  Check this link: http://www.motorhome.co.in/
China and Tibet (2007)!  John and Harriet toured China and Tibet by Motorhome in 2007.  Harriet is writing some articles which will appear in magazines shortly, but for a brief glimpse of our 5000 km RV tour of Yunnan and Tibet see our China page.  You can also read about our 2006 trip to North VietNam!
If you are driving to Central America we recommend a) Purchase our book, b) Purchase the Church's book on Camping in Mexico, b) Print our Updates pages as these include the latest information not found in our book c) Purchase the acrobat file which contains additional Camping Places  listings.  We recommend the ITMB maps and Footprint Guides. See other useful references.
New... We have consolidated lists of camping places in Guatemala and  El Salvador which is now available in an Acrobat  file, along with the Camping Places section of 99 Days to Panama and updates in this web site.  You may purchase this and download the file today!

We wrote this book (and this web site) to encourage others to explore the fascinating places of Central  America. Central America  is much less developed for camping than Mexico, but nevertheless as novice motorhomers we found it easy to  find camping places that were safe and enjoyable.  We mostly boondocked, but here and in the book we list directions to full or partial service camping places for those who would rather have the security that goes with staying in established camping places (most of these take tent campers as well). We will update this site as we learn more from fellow travelers, and as we return on future trips. We will also be expanding this site in the near future to include recommended itineries for both the "wimps" among us and the adventuresome.  We encourage anyone with new information, or updates to the information here or in our book, to send them to us at Updates@BrindlePress.com.  We will post them here.
